Our Journey

Knockrobin Glamping was set up in 2017 out of James’ passion for the outdoor lifestyle and love of camping with a difference. Inspired by a ‘*Glamping Under the Stars*’ in County Laois, James set up Knockrobin Glamping on the grounds of Tinakilly County House Hotel, Wicklow with it’s stunning views.
Knockrobin Glamping offers guests a luxury glamping experience with king-size beds complete with electric blankets, private hotel style bathrooms (close to the tents) and breakfast delivered to your tent in the morning. With close proximity to Wicklow Town, blue flag beaches and Wicklow’s historic sites guests have a lot to choose from.

How to find us!

Put 'Knockrobin Glamping' into Google Maps or your Sat Nav. Alternatively -Take Exit 16 south-bound off the M11, Take the first exit from the roundabout into Rathnew, Use the Tinakilly Hotel entrance from the main road, (if you pass a grave-yard you've gone too far) continue up the beautiful tree lined drive and turn left before the gate to Tinakilly Hotel. Turn right into our entrance at the first bend in the road.

By Public Transport

The 133 Bus Eireann service Dublin City centre and the Wexford Bus 740 service from Dublin Airport both stop at Rathnew village, right at the bottom of our Avenue, Tinakilly Hotel Entrance - a 10 minute walk. The is also a train service from Dublin to Wicklow town, it’s a 5 minutes taxi journey from the Train Station to Knockrobin Glamping.

Visit Glendalough on the local direct bus service from Rathnew to Glendalough daily, Glendalough bus times.

Places to visit

Brittas Bay Beach

Brittas has a 5km stretch of powdery sand and sand dunes, a ‘European Union (EU) Blue Flag’ beach that is life guarded throughout the bathing season. Approx 13km / 15 min drive.
Glendalough Lake & Visitor Center

Glendalough is a remarkable place know as ‘the valley of the two lakes‘ for its spectacular scenery, rich history, archaeology and abundant wildlife. A Monastic village with a round tower and visitor Centre. Approx 30 min drive. Local direct bus service.
The Murrough Wicklow

Lovely walk by the sea with sea swimming available on the stone beach or nearby Wicklow Harbour. A 20 min walk from Knockrobin or 5 mins by car.
Maghermore Beach

Magheramore beach is a small, secluded beach located just 10 minutes drive outside Wicklow Town. The perfect place to bring the whole family. It is accessible through a pathway with parking available on the street.
Kilmacurragh National Botanic Gardens

Mount Usher Gardens
